The theme for this month is GOOD NEWS. Undoubtedly, God is good, kind, loving, caring and deeply thoughtful. In April, God is our stone of help, and in May, we enjoyed divine mercy from God. When one is divinely touched with the mercy of God, the only news that will come from one’s homestead is good news to all and sundry, whether they know us or not, because good news is another vehicle for divine advertisement. At the same time, it also satisfies one’s soul in many ways. No wonder the scripture says, “As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country” (Proverbs 25:25). I decree into your life now a ceaseless flow of good news from all sources in Jesus’ name.

“As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country” (Proverbs 25:25)

It is important to point out that the birth of our lord and saviour, Jesus Christ brings the greatest good news of salvation and great joy to the whole of mankind (Luke 2:10). The greatest corresponding responsibility we have regarding the birth of Jesus Christ is for us to spread the good news wherever we go. For the Bible says, “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!” (Isaiah 52:7). Cascading from the greatest good news of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ is the attendant bountiful harvest of good news for all the children of God. The Bible is replete with many people and nations whose situations of bad news were turned to permanent and indelible good news. For example, it was such bad news for Peter, a professional fisherman, to fish all night and catch nothing, but this bad news turned to good news within minutes when Jesus stepped into his boat, as Peter’s experience of scarcity and frustration turned into abundance and fullness of joy (Luke 5:4-7). Bad news that brought out hot tears from the eyes of Hezekiah turned to good news within minutes of divine intervention (2 Kings 20:1-6). Also, through divine direction and guidance David’s bad news of losing his properties, wives and encouragement from his followers was turned to good news within hours (1 Samuel 30:1-20). It was bad news for the sons of the prophets to lose the axe head that was borrowed. However, with the intervention of Elisha, a genuine man of God, the natural law was suspended to turn the bad news into good news within few minutes (2 Kings 6:1-7). When the debtors threatened to take away the widow’s two sons because of debt, it was bad news, but when she got the money to pay through divine intervention, bad news turned to good news (2 Kings 4:1-7). I decree an immediate end to any areas of your life that you have been experiencing bad news prior to this time in Jesus’ name. Is there a plan by anyone or group of people to abort your good news? It will not succeed in Jesus’ name.

Several biblical examples show how God turned bad news into good news:

  • Peter: Fished all night without success, but experienced abundance when Jesus entered his boat (Luke 5:4–7).

  • Hezekiah: Faced death, but received healing and extension of life through divine intervention (2 Kings 20:1–6).

  • David: Lost everything at Ziklag but recovered all through divine guidance (1 Samuel 30:1–20).

  • Sons of the prophets: Lost a borrowed axe head, but Elisha’s miracle retrieved it (2 Kings 6:1–7).

  • Widow: Faced losing her sons to debt, but divine provision helped her repay and save her family (2 Kings 4:1–7).

The coming of Jesus Christ was good news not only to his earthly parents but also to the entire world. King Herod wanted to kill and exterminate that good news before its manifestation, but he failed. Not that alone, many people, especially the Pharisees and the Sadducees, were eagerly awaiting bad news concerning Jesus Christ and his earthly ministry, but this never happened. Instead, it was good news all the time. This shall be your portion in Jesus’ name. Everyone expecting bad news from your home concerning any member of your family or any area of your life will be disappointed in Jesus’ name. You are in for pleasant surprises of good news this month and beyond in Jesus’ name. Happy new month.
