My heart is filled with indescribable joy as I welcome you to the month of February, the second month of this year. Truly, this is a year of outpouring for us in this parish, and God has been faithful on all fronts. The first month of the year was outstanding and remarkable, with lots of testimonies. This is just the beginning of miracles and testimonies outpouring this year. We thank God for this extraordinary show of love and care for us.  The theme for this month is MOVING MOUNTAINS and our anchor scripture is Mark 11:23 “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”.  This theme demonstrates the level at which God plans to deal with us this year. For it is good news for us to have a declaration of moving mountains out of our way just at the beginning of the year. This is clearing the way for an extraordinary experience of outpouring this year.

“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”

  • Mark 11:23

Meanwhile, you should be aware that mountains come in different forms and manifest in various ways. It could be physical or spiritual. It could be financial handicap, career challenge, health challenges, children with disruptive behaviour, addictions of various kinds, marital issues, academic issues, family issues, etc. You should also be conscious of the fact that while mountains could be a barrier in some circumstances it could also be a test of our faith in another circumstance. Whatever may be the case, God is able and ready to strengthen us with unusual capacity to move mountains that want to serve as barriers to our progress, advancement, and breakthroughs. The bible says, “Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it” (Zechariah 4:7). God is able to level every mountain and move you forward.

The biggest obstacle to the exercise of faith is doubt. I want to believe that when it is God who is talking to us, we cannot doubt Him because God is not a man that He should lie. God is also the Almighty that nobody can stop Him. He is caring and loving, who loves us so much that He could sacrifice His only begotten Son for our salvation. He is so mindful of us that He created each one of us in a unique way for a particular purpose.

Kindly flee away from sin, have trust in God, continuously do good to others, be positive in everything you do and rejoice in the Lord always. Be intentional in your prayer life and in the study of the Word of God. Do not withhold anything good in your hands from others. Do not forsake the fellowship of brethren. Surely, God will show up for you in manifold ways this month and beyond in Jesus name. Happy new month.
