Justification

With a great, joyful heart, I warmly welcome you to the month of October, the beginning of the last quarter of the year. We thank God for the month of notable miracles, which lived up to its name as christened by the almighty God. The God we serve is always faithful, dependable, consistent and reliable. He has all the power, might, wisdom, and resources. At the same time, he is loving, caring, and merciful. He always demonstrates these attributes in the lives of His people. In fact, it is because of the Lord’s mercies, which are new every morning, that we have not been consumed (Lamentations 3:21-22). In a way that is special and unique, the gracious God has declared this month as month of JUSTIFICATION for us in this parish. Our anchor scripture is Romans 8:33: “Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.”. This theme is very profound and with great depth.

When you are justified, you become a winner. When you are justified, you become a subject of celebration and congratulatory messages.

When you are justified, you have victory over wrong and unnecessary accusations that could put you into trouble. When you are justified, you vanquished all charges against you. When you are justified, you are free from punishment. When you are justified, you put your accuser to shame. When you are justified, mockery turns to admiration. When you are justified, hostility and rejection turn to acceptability. When you are justified, you will have the last laugh. When you are justified, you become a winner. When you are justified, you become a subject of celebration and congratulatory messages. These and more are what God has in stock for us this month. The implication of the above situation is that you should not be afraid of any situation, anybody or any circumstance. Do not feel overwhelmed by circumstances that appear not to be in your favour at present. Do not give in to any intimidation, either from any mortal or works of nature, because all of them will obey the command and voice of the almighty God to begin to work in your favour now. Be rest assured that the almighty God has your back. He has big plans for you. He is always here to defend you and advocate for you. His mercy is available to replace every form of judgment set against you.

Meanwhile, when you study our anchor scripture, it says the qualification for God to justify you is you being part of His elect. In other words, do you belong to God? Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour? Can God depend on you and vouch for you as one of His elect? This is very crucial, and it must be taken seriously. I urge you to carry out a thorough introspection of your Christian and spiritual life. Make sure you are in right standing with your God. Trust and always obey Him. Do not allow anybody to use you to lay wrong accusations against another person. Without any equivocation, God will surely always justify you, in all circumstances, and with anybody in Jesus’ name.
