DIVINE VISITATION

Welcome to the month of August, which God has declared as the month of DIVINE

VISITATION for us. Our anchor scripture is Genesis 21:1: “And the LORD visited Sarah as he

had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken”. After experiencing fresh oil with

fresh anointing and new unction in the month of July, nothing can hinder God from visiting us

with bags full of unprecedented blessings in this month of August. It is always heart-warming

news when God decides to pay someone a special visit. It is much more cheering when God

informs you in advance of His visit to you. This is an open cheque for you to engage in a

comprehensive plan to receive Him as an august visitor. Despite this, many children of God fail

to prepare well for God’s visit, while others prepare in a wrong way. Judas Iscariot failed to

prepare well to receive Jesus when he was to visit the foundation of his life; hence, he allowed the

spirit of Satan into his life just before the divine visitation (Luke 22:3). Some people also prepare

only their body instead of their heart, body and soul for divine visitation. This is the difference

between Martha and Mary when Jesus visited them (Luke 10: 38-42). So, we should prepare

adequately for God’s visitation and touching of every aspect of our lives for the following

reasons. When God visited the house of Abraham through His angels, the unbelief of Sarah

could not prevent the household from being blessed (Genesis 18:13-14). When Elisha visited

Jericho, the long-time fountain of bitterness in their lives turned to sweetness (2 Kings 2:19-22).

When Jesus visited the man by the pool of Bethesda (John 5:7-9), he was healed of long-time

sickness. When the divine word of Jesus visited the centurion servant, he was instantly healed

from a terrible sickness (Mathew 8:5-13). When the power of God divinely visited the church of

old (Acts 2:1-4), all the apostles were empowered to win many souls as well as perform many

signs and wonders.

Also, a visit from God is a special touch from Him. In other words, whenever God decides to

visit an individual, a family and a church, it is a moment for a special touch from God. When God

touches you, your life and situation will never remain the same. The dead womb of Sarah

received a special touch from God, and its deadness turned to fruitfulness. The hopelessness of

Obededom received a special touch from God through divine visitation, and he became a

celebrated person within three months. The ministry of Peter received a special touch from God,

and a once timid disciple of Jesus became a fearless preacher of the gospel. My prayer is that as

God decides to visit us, all of us will receive a special touch from Him, and we will experience a

positive turnaround in all areas of our life in Jesus’ name.

 

Furthermore, our God is a God of purpose who never does anything or makes a pronouncement by

accident. When He declares this month as a month of divine visitation to us, truly God will visit

His church. Some things happen when God visits a church. First, people will experience His

power and presence in a new dimension. Second, He makes heaven open permanently upon the

church. Third, He sets the church on the path of unstoppable all-round growth, and finally He

exposes all wolves in sheep’s clothing in the church, thereby cleansing the church from all forms

 

of hidden sins. My fervent prayer is that beyond individuals, RCCG Mount Zion parish will

experience the fullness of divine visitation this month and beyond in Jesus’ name.

Let’s pray for divine visitation individually and collectively because the best August visitor we

can have is the visitation of the Most High God. My prayer is that all of us will experience His

visitation, in various dimensions, in Jesus name.
