THE KINDNESS OF GOD

THE KINDNESS OF GOD (2 Samuel 9:3)
Welcome to the month of April, the beginning of the second quarter of the year and the new beginning after the commemoration weekend of the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. It marks a new dawn as Jesus Christ pronounced an end to all difficulties and worries of life on the cross by saying “It is finished” (John 19:30). His resurrection also signifies an irreversible end to our concerns and challenges when the bible recorded it that on the day of resurrection “And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it” (Mathew 28:2). This is a mark of finality, which only demonstrates the deep-seated care and love of God for mankind. Hence our theme for this month is THE KINDNESS OF GOD. This is beyond what words from human being could aptly describe but the story behind our text for this month gives us a glimpse into what we mean by the kindness of God. The bible says “And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet” {2 Samuel 9:3).
Significant things to note here are that the kindness of God will put you into remembrance for good things, it restores you into your original position of honour and dignity, it brings into life and fulfillment all forgone life’s dreams and aspirations, it connects you to a divine helper of your destiny, it pays no attention to deficiencies or negativity in your life, it erases sad memories and it launches you into a kingly position and a position of authority. God’s kindness is a demonstration of His love to us hence the bible talks about his lovingkindness on several occasions. The lesson to learn from this is that we should always focus on and meditate always on God’s kindness to us on all fronts and at all times. His kindness overrides our worries, fears, challenges, struggles and issues of life. I pray that the kindness of God will not fail you any day, any time and any where in Jesus name.
