THE GRACE OF GOD

THE GRACE OF GOD

May the grace of the almighty God abound unto you always. Welcome to the month of May. The theme for this month is THE GRACE OF GOD.  Apostle Paul says “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” (I Corinthians 15:10). From this scriptural verse, there is a difference between the grace of God and the grace man could extend to a fellow human being. It is obvious that the grace of God is quite unique and works more than power, ability, strength and intelligence in the life of a man. The grace of God does not set boundaries or limitations as it is made available to all (Ephesians 4:7) hence nobody can deny the grace of God in his life. It is God’s grace that places you in a good position where naturally you ought not to be by your antecedents or background. It also infuses in you the supernatural ability to go beyond the level which your natural capacity can carry you. We need the grace of God to live in holiness and purity as demanded by God. Furthermore, when destruction was to visit the world, the bible recorded that Noah found grace in the eyes of the lord (Gen.6:8) and this led to the preservation of his life and all his households. So, the grace of God preserves, favours, empowers, enlarges, promotes, makes provisions and prevents calamity. As God has given us the privilege to witness this month, we will find grace in the eyes of the Lord and grace of God will work for us as it worked for Noah and others in Jesus name. The grace of God attracts favour to someone’s life. When this happens, it makes you relevant and accepted even where people want to reject you. This is the hallmark of Joseph’s life. The grace of God made him relevant in the house of Potiphar. The same grace made him relevant even while in prison and eventually in the whole land of Egypt when he became the prime minister. As God deals with us with His grace in this month, my prayer is that the grace of God will make all of us relevant in our academic, in our family, in our working places, in our career, in our city and ultimately in the house of God as well as all things pertaining to God. The grace of God is our shield in Jesus name. Another important aspect of God’s grace is its sufficiency and sustainability. Good legacy is one of the virtues cherished greatly by God. Abraham handed over good legacy over to Isaac. Isaac handed over good legacy unto Jacob and Jacob never failed to hand over good legacy unto Joseph. Hence the bible confirms it that Abraham was great, Isaac was greater while Jacob was exceedingly great. This occurs as a result of sufficient grace of God made available to the family. Your own family will enjoy sufficient grace of God in Jesus name. Meanwhile, you should remember that the grace of God is not a license to sin and neither it is an excuse for indolence. Rather it is made available to make us work harder in our relationship with God. So the most important message for us as believers in our anchor scripture is that Paul worked hard to make sure that the grace of God bestowed upon him was not in vain. Brethren, I beseech you in this month and beyond that, you should not frustrate the grace of God upon your life, do not waste it but make maximum use of it to the glory of God alone. You are a blessing in Jesus name. Amen.
