DIVINE SUPPLY (Philippians 4:19)

Welcome to the month of November, which God has graciously declared unto us in Mount Zion parish as the month of our DIVINE SUPPLY. Our anchor scripture for this month is Philippians 4:19  “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus”. The import of this scripture is that no one can supply all your needs except God. Man can only give you limited supply within his limited capability and capacity. However, God will supply all your need because He has the resources to do it. The reservoir of His riches is more than our needs. Also, nobody can block the supply from God to you. His supply does not address a particular aspect of your needs but all aspects. In essence, He will supply all your spiritual, physical, financial, career and emotional needs. It is very easy for him to do this because the resources to meet your needs are already in existence before your need arise. That is why God is called Jehovah Jireh, the great provider, who supplied ram in place of the life of Isaac, and who provided Jesus Christ, his only begotten son as a ransom for the sins of the world.

It is important to know that divine supply is at the discretion of God especially with regard to timing, quality and quantity. He has knowledge of what we do not know hence He is called omniscient God. That is why His supply may appear to be late but in the real sense, it is not late. He knows the appropriate time to give you that child of destiny as He did for Elizabeth, Sarah and Hannah. He knows the right time you need the good husband and wife you desire as He gives to Isaac. He knows the appropriate time to establish you in a good career that will not take away salvation from you. Are you lacking any spiritual gifts? God can supply it to you. When Apostle Paul says “my God” shall supply all your need, he is talking about a personal and confidential relationship with God. This is instructive to us to examine our personal relationship with God. Can you boldly say “my God” in the real sense of the word? This scripture is also talking about absolute dependence on God to meet all your needs. It is in line with this that apostle says “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves, but our sufficiency is of God” (2 Corinthians 3:5).

Many people erroneously complain that their needs are not being met by God when in actual fact what they are presenting to God is “wants” and not “needs” while the promise of God is to supply their needs and not wants. Furthermore, it is very important to note the demonstration of the spirit of giving and receiving communicated to Apostle Paul preceded this declaration unto the church in Philippi. The lesson from this is what is it that God has endowed you with that you need to communicate with others? Are you blessed with the spirit of kindness, generosity, benevolence, diligence, prayerfulness, extraordinary intelligence, organizational ability, a special skill or expertise, financial capability and special anointing? Communicate it to others or any organization God has placed you and you will be pleasantly surprised how God will supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. You are a blessing in Jesus name
