Open Heaven

OPEN HEAVEN (Mathew 3:16-17)

Congratulations on the successful completion of the 50 days fasting and prayer, which ended yesterday. I believe it was another great and wonderful experience with the almighty God. As the dividends begin to roll in, you will be alive, hale and hearty to enjoy them to the fullest in Jesus name. Simultaneously my heart fills with joy unspeakable to welcome you to a new month of March and I decree into your life that as you have leaped beyond the month of February, you will also march forward on all fronts this month in Jesus name. We give glory to the almighty God for His faithfulness all the time and we bless God for His sustaining grace upon your lives. You will continue to wax stronger and to do greater exploits for Him in Jesus name. 

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him. And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased

Mathew 3:16-17

As we begin the last month in the first quarter of this year of great turn around and pulling down strongholds, the almighty God has declared this month unto us in Mount Zion parish as the month of OPEN HEAVEN. Our anchor scripture for this month is Mathew 3:16-17 “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him. And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased”. When Jesus Christ experienced open heavens a spirit like a dove came down from heaven upon him and a voice announced him to the world. Also, open heavens bring about a clearer vision of God and His plans for you hence Ezekiel declared “The heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God” (Ezekiel 1:1). When God approves open heaven for you “The LORD shall open unto you his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand: and you shall lend unto many nations, and you shall not borrow” (Deuteronomy 28:12). These are wonderful blessings that demand responsibilities of holiness, purity, righteousness and love from us. 

What does open heaven connote spiritually? It means the presence of God, the glory of God and the power of God being made available to us alive. Hence open heaven comes with the fullness of the Holy Spirit as experienced by our Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 4:1). It also comes with positive declarations concerning our present and the future by the almighty God (Mark 1:11). Furthermore, it comes with the power of God (Luke 4:14) just as Jesus Christ began to walk in the power and authority of God after open heaven (Luke 4:18-20). One important caveat to open heaven is that Satan is always ready with many alluring temptations to take away the blessings of open heaven (Mark 1:13). So we must be wary of this and live a life devoid of any form of impurities but righteousness unto God at all times. Open heaven experience is soothing and comforting. It removes lots of hurdles from one’s way, it sets you apart for great exploits and it attracts great blessings unto you. Heaven will not be closed upon you and you will enjoy the faithfulness of God all the days of your life in Jesus name. Heaven will not cease to pour its blessings upon you this month and beyond in Jesus name. God will cause the heaven to be opened upon us permanently in Jesus name.
