God is Able
by Paul Omoyefa
Welcome to the month of May, the second month in the second quarter of the year. It is also an anniversary month for our church as it clocks 12 years this month. Happy birthday to the church and congratulations. It has been a journey appropriately defined by God’s unending faithfulness and grace on all fronts. Our theme for this month is GOD IS ABLE and our anchor scripture for this month is Ephesians 3:20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us”. Truly we began this year with many expectations, plans, resolutions and determination of not missing out of God’s blessings. On the other hand at present, we are confronted with reality of precedence, resources and the circumstances surrounding us, which do not match our human expectations. In spite of this, God says He is able to do more than what you think or ask (Ephesians 3:20), He is able to deliver you (Daniel 3:17), He is able to keep you from falling (Jude 1:24), He is able to keep what is entrusted into His care (2 Timothy 1:12b) and He is able to perform what He has promised (Romans 4:21). Whatever you might think you have lost in terms of opportunities, appointments, career plans, financially, spiritually, marriage wise and the rest, God is able to restore the supposed lost grounds. This is the promise He gives in Joel 2:25 “And I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, and the consuming locust, and the cutting locust, my great army which I sent among you”. In fact, the restored portion will be far better than the lost portion as promised in Isaiah 60:17 “For bronze, I will bring gold, and for iron, I will bring silver, and for wood bronze, and for stones iron: I will also make your officers peace, and your rulers righteousness”. My prayer is that God will prove His ability to the fullest in our lives in Jesus name. It is important for believers to know whom they believe and the words of whom they believe. That is why the bible says “And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord” (Luke 1:45). God sends His words to us this month that “He is Able”. We believe these words and they will be accomplished in all areas of our lives in Jesus name.
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us
Ephesians 3:20
Trusting God to perform His words is the most important positive attitude required of us as believers because He is able to perform what He has promised (Romans 4:21). Even when we are thinking of our inadequacies, “God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8). Therefore, listen to His words, believe His words, trust in His ability and you will see truly that our God is able. Regardless of the enormity, size and volume of our needs; if only we could ask God to intervene, He is able to do exceeding abundantly than all of them because God’s provisions are far more in abundance than our small needs and requests. When our minds are connected to that of God and we are filled with many good thoughts of heaven, living our lives to impact others, depopulating the kingdom of darkness by engaging in aggressive soul-winning, thinking of a successful career, a good marriage and home, thinking of being blessed beyond any curse and thinking of being a blessing to many people, God is also able to do exceeding abundantly above all these things we think about. Belief in God, trust in His words and you will experience His limitless ability. You are blessed and safe in Jesus name.
