Divine Exemption

DIVINE EXEMPTION (Exodus 10:21-23)
I warmly welcome you to the month of November with greater joy, peace and favour in Jesus name. Our theme for this month is DIVINE EXEMPTION. Our anchor scripture for the month is “And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt. And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days. They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings”. (Exodus 10:21-23). This is a classic example of divine exemption and this is the hand of God at work. The Lord separates His own people from evil and destruction. He marks them safe at all time. This is the promise of God for us since ages, which is being reenacted for us this month and beyond. Our God is unchangeable in the demonstration of His power, love, support, help, mercy and guidance. Just as He did in the time of old, He has continued till today and forever to do the same. In fact, He demonstrates this from generations to generations.
One important thing is required for you to start and to continue enjoying divine exemption. You must simply belong to Jesus Christ by surrendering the totality of your life to Him, turn away from your sinful ways and obey Him at all times.
When we go through the bible we shall find out that there were periods of famine and difficulty during the generations of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph but all of them were exempted from the devastating effects of the famine. In fact, all of them lived in abundance during those periods of famine. This is a mark of divine exemption upon that generation from Abraham to Isaac to Jacob and finally to Joseph. So there are two major ways to experience divine exemption, namely, first, God can mark you safe in the midst of trouble like what he did for Isaac during the famine. This is also confirmed in Isaiah 60:2 that “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee”. Second, God can separate you from the trouble like He did for the children of Israel by asking Joshua to create cities of refuge (Joshua 20:1-3). Here the bible says “that the slayer that killeth any person unawares and unwittingly may flee thither: and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood” (Joshua 20:3).
One important thing is required for you to start and to continue enjoying divine exemption. You must simply belong to Jesus Christ by surrendering the totality of your life to Him, turn away from your sinful ways and obey Him at all times. By this, the mark of Christ upon you will be visible to all enemies of your soul, all devourers, all evil planners, and pursuers of destiny hence you would become untouchable for them. The bible also confirms this in Ezekiel 9:6a, which says “Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark”. This was also reiterated by Apostle Paul to the Galatians when he writes “From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus” (Galatians 6:17). As you go through this month and all the days of your life, I decree the mark of divine exemption upon your life, household and all that belongs to you in Jesus name. You are a blessing.
