The Reason for The Season

The Reason for The Season

It is that time of the year where we deck the halls, sing carols, handout hampers and generally spread Christmas cheer. The streets twinkle with lights and the stores overflow with treats and gifts. This is one celebration that is acknowledged all over the world.

It is however sad that many do not know the Person whom they celebrate. Like the people of Athens in Paul’s time who worshipped the “Unknown God” (Acts 17:16-29), have you been celebrating Christ-mas without knowing the Christ? Do you refer to the season as x-mas for not knowing the Christ? It is time to pause, reflect and seek the One we celebrate. His name is Jesus Christ, He is the Son of God, He was born sinless, yet He was crucified on the cross for our sins, died and rose again to redeem us from sin and damnation. He came so that we can have abundant life (John 10:10). He is the Reason for the season and He desires to have a relationship with you (Rev. 3:20).

As you celebrate Christmas this year, don’t leave the Christ out of Christmas. Take a step of faith and invite Him into your life by saying this prayer genuinely from your heart… “Lord Jesus, I accept You today into my heart as my Lord and Saviour, please forgive my sins, wash me in Your Blood, transform my life and give me a fresh start, fill me with Your Holy Spirit and become the Reason for my Christmas, in Jesus name. Amen!”

Congratulations and welcome to the family of God! Jesus Christ is the Reason for the season. Please attend a Bible-believing and Holy Spirit-filled Church near you to learn of Jesus Christ, your Lord and Saviour, and be deeply rooted in Him through His Word and Holy Spirit.
