Standing on God’s Promises
by Paul Omoyefa
You are heartily welcome to the great year 2022, which is going to be greater, better, prosperous and outstanding than the previous years you have ever witnessed on the earth’s surface. Once more, I congratulate you and your loved ones for braving all the odds of the year 2021 and for entering the year 2022 triumphantly. Truly, the siege is over and God is fully in charge of our lives.
For us in RCCG Mount Zion Parish, the theme for this year is STANDING ON GOD’S PROMISES. This is quite encouraging because the far-reaching implication of this is that we are emerging victorious over all the works of darkness from the beginning to the end of this year in spite of some challenges that stubbornly think they will defeat us. God is faithful at all times. He honours His words more than His name (Psalm 138:2). Also, He watches over His words to see them being fulfilled (Jeremiah 1:12). So, as you go through this year be rest assured that the promises of God concerning you from the foundation of your life till eternity will be fulfilled in Jesus’ name.
Searching through the scriptures, there is a promise of victory over every life’s challenge. He promises us His abiding presence in all situations and wherever we go (Exodus 33:14). He promises us freedom from bondage and yoke of the taskmasters (Leviticus 26:12-13). He promises us victory over every form of fear because He will fight the enemy on our behalf (Deuteronomy 3:22). He promises us extra-ordinary strength and help (Isaiah 41:10). He promises us a new experience of peace that will erase past unpalatable memories (Isaiah 65:17). He promises us good health and divine prosperity (3 John 2). He calls us apple of His eyes (Zechariah 2:8) and the bible says He cares so much for us that He asks us to cast all our burdens upon Him (1 Peter 5:7). He promises us genuine rest from yokes of life (Mathew 11:28) He has the capacity to supply all our needs (Philippians 4:19) He promises to redeem us from the power of death (Hosea 13:14). All these promises and many more in the scriptures encourage us to rise above our past circumstances and challenges which might have come in form of fire or flood and stand firm on God’s promises. The words of God come against these challenges thus: “So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him” (Isaiah 59:19). God never fails and His promises will not fail you in Jesus’ name. I decree into your life that throughout the year 2022 and beyond. “you shall not be joined with them in burial” (Isaiah 14:20a) in Jesus’ name.
Kindly beware that it will be difficult for someone to access the promises of God when such a person does not have any connection with God. To this end, if you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour, kindly do so immediately without any further delay. If you are already in Christ, please keep maintaining righteous standing with God at all times and in all circumstances. I pray for you once more that as you witness the beginning of this year, you will go through the year with ease, good health and intentional relationship with God while you will end this year gloriously with many landmark achievements in Jesus’ name. Once more, happy new year.
