A Fresh Start

A Fresh Start

Have you ever done something that you wish you could go back and correct? I’m sure at one time or the other you have found yourself in a situation where you wished you could go back and start afresh.

The start of a new year is an opportunity for a fresh start, regardless of how the previous year went, you can close that chapter and start again. You can forget the failures, near successes, disappointments, pain and unfulfilled promises of the previous year.

What better way to start than with the author and finisher, the alpha and the Omega, the one who knows the end from the beginning; I am talking about Jesus, the way, the truth, and life (John 14:6). He offers a new beginning, a fresh start, a clean slate regardless of what your past looks like, regardless of your race, family background, educational qualification or any other criteria the world uses to box us into stereotypes. With Him, you don’t have to worry about your past creeping up He promises not to remember them anymore. When you come to Him, it’s as if the old person never existed, a new you emerges and everything becomes new; “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2Cor. 5:17)

If you already know Him, I encourage you to walk with Him this year let Him lead you by His word and His spirit. Our peace in the face of an ever-changing world is found in His presence. Your new year “Resolutions” will remain unresolved if you leave Jesus out of the equation.

If you do not know him, I invite you to a fulfilling and life-changing Journey with Him. He says ” Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”. (Matt. 11:28) He loves you with an unconditional and everlasting love (Jer 31:3) that is why in anticipation that you might want to come He already paid the price for your salvation “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16), “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).

What are you waiting for? Take a step of faith and invite Him into your life by saying this prayer genuinely from your heart… “Lord Jesus, I accept You today into my heart as my Lord and Saviour, please forgive my sins, wash me in Your Blood, transform my life and give me a fresh start, fill me with Your Holy Spirit and become the Reason for my Christmas, in Jesus name. Amen!”

Congratulations and welcome to the family of God! You now have a fresh start with Jesus, your past sins are forgiven and are no longer remembered.
